To celebrate the 10th year of Corona's The Great Taste this Saturday, organizers have planned a live band and drawing for a Fender guitar.

The annual event supports the Corona Fire Safety Foundation and the Corona Police Community Partnership, said Jim Schlosser, who has helped organize the event.

This year, the fire foundation would like to use the money to support a camp for children who have suffered burns, Schlosser said.

The Great Taste will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at 1250 Corona Pointe Court.

Attendees will pay one flat fee and be able to taste food from 27 restaurants and food providers. Participants include Crumbles Cookies, Super Suppers and Graziano's Restaurant. This year marks the largest number of vendors participating, Schlosser said.

Following the theme Corona Rocks, the band The Hypnotics will perform, and Fender has donated a guitar for a drawing. Admission includes entry in the drawing.

The police partnership will use the money to pay for crime prevention efforts such as giving officers items to use in school presentations and having stuffed animals for children at traumatic incidents, he said.

Event tickets may be purchased in advance online at www.greattastecorona.com, or at the Corona Police Department headquarters at Sixth Street and Buena Vista Avenue, or the Corona Fire Department headquarters at 400 S. Vicentia Ave.
